St Mulumba’s

Located on the same dust road as St Michael’s and Bishop Willigers, sits the co-ed primary school of St Mulumba’s.

They currently have circa 900 pupils. Facilities at this school are very basic and there is a huge amount of support needed but it is important that any help we provide is sustainable and has the appropriate governance in place.

At the moment we are helping to fund a school meal programme, which has created a huge positive impact at the school in and out of the classroom.

Post Covid support

The concern was that parents might be tempted to keep children from school post-covid and so we funded a ‘Get a Girl back to School’ campaign, which enabled girls to return to school with their fees and requirements paid for the first term.

What is needed

We are aware that there is no shelter for the pupils when they have their lunch (heat & rain) and building a shelter would be a welcomed addition, when the funds allow.
